Season 3, Episode 10: Staying In Control: Tackling Incontinence, Pelvic prolapse, and Recurrent UTIs
Pelvic floor prolapse and urinary incontinence is one of the most common gynecological issues amongst women. Yet, it is also one of the most under-diagnosed disorders due to the fact that many women are reluctant to report their symptoms. Underreporting of symptoms is strongly linked to embarrassment and societal stigma. It is my hope that this episode will provide enough information about urinary incontinence that they will be encouraged to talk to their provider about their symptoms.
Join The Eavesdrop as we have the conversation with Dr. Melanie Schlittenhardt, a board certified urology nurse practitioner and Doctor of Nursing Practice. In this episode we discussed urinary and fecal incontinence as well as Interstitial Cystitis (IC), recurrent urinary tract infections, vaginal dryness and its involvement in pelvic floor disorders, and pelvic floor prolapse.
